Aviation Director Jobs description

The Aviation director develops and institutes department policies and procedures. He prepares annual operating budgets that include operating expenses, facilities, supplies, personnel, training, and capital expenses. The Aviation director reports deviations between estimated expenditures and actual costs to the higher management with appropriate proofs and explanations. The Aviation director advises the management on the status and requirements for aircraft and other equipment consistent with the company needs. The Aviation director establishes and maintains partnerships with relevant company staff. He finally manages the recruitment with the cooperation and assistance of the Human Resources Department.

The requirements of the Aviation director are enormous:
- College degree in aviation or any engineering field required.
- A minimum of 5 years experience operating under FAR part 121 or 125 with 3 years of aviation management experience required.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Hold an airline transport pilot (ATP) certificate with appropriate type ratings.
- Have logged a minimum of 5,000 flight hours with 1,000 flight hours in the type or like type of aircraft, Boeing 737 experience preferred.
