The OEM & Sector Manager Aviation Lubricants Manager is an integral role in driving long and prosperous Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) relationships, strategic partnerships, support and champion industry influencing insights for the aviation lubricants sector. This will be executed through a strong technical appreciation allied with a good commercial acumen.
This role will change strategically the way we manage business with aviation OEMs and gain insights for short, medium and longer-term choices for the aviation lubricants business. Aligning strongly with our ambition to maintain and grow our market share in general and commercial aviation sectors and power progress for sustainable fuel & electric powered aircraft opportunities.
He/she will be the face for the aviation business on industry committees and industrial forums bringing insights back to the business for medium and longer-term change improvements.
This role is key accountable of the following –
Develop and implement the Aviation OEM strategy with an in-year and 5-year plan and targets including a tiering of OEMs with a communication and engagement plan appropriate to the tier level. Align planning with the Global OEM activity.
OEM and customer centricity to ensure AeroShell products meet the lubricant requirements of OEMs and the market. Bring together business cases for product development.
Provide meaningful and credible insights and OEM forecasts to help guide the business.
Drive a holistic approach to the OEM; aligning all stakeholders internally to drive the objectives (eg sales, technical support, view of aviation lubricants and fuels markets, and the broader lubricants and fuels business within the company)
Drive product approvals with the OEM and operators, OEM conversions and budget for this activity with your region. Ensure relevant flight evaluations are secured and aligned with OEMs requirements.
Work with regional sales team to support and lead the development and execution of OEM pipeline opportunities from factory fill to aftermarket.
Leverage sales to maximize outputs of industry related events, conferences and sales opportunities
Support cross regional OEM relationship building and execution ensuring a win-win and enterprise first behaviour.
Own the engagements (technical and commercial) and be Single Point Accountable for delivery of the short- and medium-term plan
Drive senior external engagements in-line with delivery of plan and build OEM intimacy with strong relationships, fostering mutual respect and collaboration
Senior representative at Aviation industry events and bodies (OEM forums, specification and governing bodies to align with team members to optimize skills sets) and trade shows
Thought leadership through understanding Industry and competitor trends providing marketing and Lubricant Leadership team insights to strategy, face to market, and for pricing discussions.
Review medium / long term OEM and market trends and approach including reviews of sales process and route to market, product portfolio vs competitor and the OEM landscape (product life cycle process and route to market)
As a company ambassador create a pull on our expertise at industry events, educational panels, seminars, etc.
Skills & Requirements
What we need from you -
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
At least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science; Master’s is preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years industry work experience.
Aviation Lubricants Sector appreciation
Strong technical acumen and credibility
Strong commercial and experience in strategic thinking and execution.
External experience with industry bodies, influencing skills and relationship building/account management
Proven track record of working in a B2B environment within a competitive OEM business culture
Ability to take insights and turn them in to a commercialize solution
This role is remote based and can be located in any major US hubs for the right candidate
